Joecoby Osborne Convicted of First-Degree Robbery

Montgomery County, Ala. – A Montgomery County jury has found Joecoby Osborne guilty of first-degree robbery, District Attorney Daryl Bailey announced.

On May 24, 2017, the victim was heading home and stopped to talk to a man he knew in the parking lot of Woodley Terrace Apartments when Osborne pulled out a gun and told him to give him what he had. The victim attempted to run away, but was shot in the leg by Osborne. Osborne is scheduled to be sentenced on June 27, 2019. He faces 20 years to life in prison.

District Attorney Daryl Bailey expressed his appreciation to Deputy District Attorneys Shanitra Jackson and Terri Mayweather-Jones, DA Investigator Lonnie Harris, and Detective J.H. Hicks of the Montgomery Police Department for their work in the case.

District Attorney Bailey said: “Our citizens are tired of these senseless crimes. We all deserve to live in a safe, prosperous community. Let this case serve as a warning to anyone engaging in violent, criminal acts. You will be arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
